2019/2020 Destination Imagination Global Finals

Destination Imagination’s Global Finals 2020 Virtual Tournament (GF20) is a one-of-a-kind collaborative problem-solving experience that takes place 100% online and is open to all students and families (yes, you read that right!) who enjoy being creative, collaborative, and solving fun challenges that require out-of-the-box thinking. Teams are NOT required or encouraged to meet in person. All components of GF20 can be completed virtually with the use of video conferencing platforms and other means of digital communication.

You do not need to have been on a Destination Imagination (DI) team for the 2019-20 DI season in order to participate. GF20 is a whole new experience and is open to EVERYONE!

For GF20, you will work with your DI teammates, friends, or family members online to participate in several different Challenge Experiences:

  • All-new Virtual Team Challenge
  • 3 all-new Virtual Instant Challenges
  • Team Challenge Showcase for your team’s solution to any of the Team Challenges from the 2019-20 Challenge season (with multiple options for submitting your solution, none of which require your team to meet in person!)
Click HERE to be taken to the DI Global Finals website and register!  Deadline June 1st.

Destination Imagination (DI) is a non-profit, volunteer-led, cause-driven organization. Our purpose is to inspire and equip students to become the next generation of innovators and leaders. Annually, we offer seven new standards-based Challenges in STEM, Improv, Visual Arts, Service Learning, and Early Learning. Each Challenge is open-ended and enables student teams to learn and experience the creative process from imagination to innovation.

Karyna

I was fortunate to be in Destination Imagination for my sophomore and junior years. I wanted to do it my senior year, but I didn’t have the time since I was going to graduate with an Associate in Art degree along with my high school diploma. At first, all DI meant to me was being in an extracurricular activity; however, as time went by, it meant way more than that. It meant a place where you could express your ideas and creativity. A place where you got closer to your teammates and really became close friends with them. A place where you created memories of laughter, and eating pizza a lot. However, my favorite memory of DI was going to Global Finals in Tennessee. Participating in Globals was really exciting, fun, and challenging. I thought that we were going to win, but in reality, we went to learn and to be better the next year. It was a lot of time and work, but I do not regret any of it. DI has affected me by allowing me to be more open and more confident in the ideas that I come up with and not to be afraid of making mistakes. This is how creativity forms.
